Studio Notes 1.0—Earn more $$$ with Framer.
With Framer on the rise, web designers have the opportunity to earn more than ever using this powerful platform. As someone who's been in the web design space for a while, I can say that Framer has completely transformed the way I approach client work and my own digital products. In this blog, I’ll walk you through several ways you can increase your earning potential with Framer.
What is Framer?
Framer is a no-code website builder that’s quickly gaining popularity among designers. Coming from a product design background, I’ve found it exciting to watch my websites come to life without relying on external developers. Framer is relatively new, but it’s growing fast. Every other week, I’m seeing updates that make it easier for designers like you and me to design, build, and launch fully functioning websites from scratch. If you’re not already familiar with Framer, I highly recommend checking it out.
How to Earn with Framer
Now, let's get into the fun part—how to earn more with Framer. Here are a few ways I’ve personally made money using the platform:
1. Client Projects
Before Framer, I used to offer freelance web design services where I would create the designs but then rely on developers to build the website. This often involved detailed handovers, documentation, and walkthroughs. Now, with Framer, I handle both the design and the build myself, which has been a game-changer.
Being a one-stop solution for clients has allowed me to charge more for my services. Not only do they get a beautifully designed site, but they also don't have to worry about hiring a separate developer. Since switching to Framer, I’ve received more clients and been able to increase my rates. For web designers looking to boost their earnings, this is a great way to do it.
2. Website Templates
This is by far my favourite way of earning with Framer—selling website templates. Once you’ve designed and built a template, you can sell it online and earn passive income each month. Of course, there’s initial work involved in creating the template, but once it’s live, it’s essentially a digital product that sells itself.
I made my first Framer template back in February, and I’m still making sales from it today. Some creators, like Hamza and Cedric, are earning over £10,000 a month from selling templates, which is incredible. If you’re interested in creating your own templates, I highly recommend it.
3. Framer Components
If you have some coding knowledge, Framer components can be a great way to earn. You can create reusable components for other designers to use when building their websites. Although this method requires coding skills, the potential earnings are worth it. While I personally don’t use this method much since coding isn’t my strong suit, I know several designers who are making good money from it.
4. Framer Partner Program
The Framer Partner Program is another fantastic way to earn extra income. By signing up to the program, you receive a unique referral link, and every time someone subscribes to Framer through your link, you earn 50% of their subscription fee. It’s an easy and effective way to make money.
For the past few months, I’ve been earning commissions daily from the partner program, with amounts ranging from £5 to over £100. If you’re already using Framer, I highly recommend signing up to this program.
The Future of Earning with Framer
These are just a few of the ways you can earn more with Framer. The platform is still growing, and I’m confident that as it evolves, new and creative ways to earn will emerge. Whether you’re working with clients, selling templates, building components, or taking advantage of the partner program, Framer offers plenty of opportunities to boost your earnings as a web designer.
